Cotaco Creek: 24-25 DEC
24 DEC: Fished from about 6:45 - 10:00am. Caught around 30 or so, with ~25 being legal size, I kept about 10 larger fish to fillet that were all 11+ inches and had good meat on them. The biggest fish were 1.63 and 1.69 lbs. Water temp was 48 degrees and crystal clear. Most fish were caught off a single lay down, 6 feet deep in 12 feet of water on 1/32nd oz BGBS bleeding shad color. I was very surprised with the quality of fish we caught, there were very few dinks. Fish bite was VERY aggressive.
25 DEC: Fished from about 1:30 - 4:00. Very similar day to the 24 DEC. Caught a lot of good fish, but not any huge ones. I kept 10 larger fish to clean, and threw back about the same amount of 9-10" crappie. The wind was a pain to deal with and they were pulling water like crazy which started to stain the water. Water temp was 51 degrees.
