It was a fine morning and I could only make a short trip. I was rigging in David's Lake from 7:00 till 9:30 and couldn't get on the fish. Only had 2 keepers and a half a dozen shorts although 2 or three of them would have made 9" barely. Water finely dropped below 70 degrees to 67. Caught the fish on a bubble gum/chartreuse hot grub and electric chicken baby shad, both on 1/16 red sickle hook jig. Tide was very low and on the neap as this are is effected by the coastal tides. Not another soul on the lake I was fishing, :scratchhead and it is a Holliday. Attachment 251919Attachment 251920Attachment 251921Attachment 251922Attachment 251923
:fish Fished Neely Henry yesterday by myself. There was a lot of company from guys in bass boats though. :banghead Anyway fished from 8:30 till 3:30 and caught 20 crappie and 5 assorted trash fish and had my line popped once by something that took off like a rocket. Had some real nice crappie that I wish I had caught in last Saturdays tournament. Largest was 1.68 lbs. Water temps have dropped to 64-65 degrees. All fish were caught spider rigging from 10 to 15 feet deep. Overall an enjoyable day on the water. Also was checking out some repairs to my outboard motor and glad to say its running better than it has in years. :HandsClappingAttachment 251924
Not Crappie, but I decided to chase a few gills this afternoon in Limestone Bay. All came from a 1/32oz spinner with a 1" White twister tail. Most fish came off isolated stumps in 12 to 18 inches of water. I kept half a limit and returned many, many more for another day. Also had several bass and even 7 crappie. Not bad for a three hour trip.

Cotaco Creek, 12 Nov16:Today was another great day...and it wasn't all about fishing or catching.http://www.crappie.com/crappie/image.../paperclip.png Attached Imageshttp://www.crappie.com/crappie/attac...112_090739-jpg http://www.crappie.com/crappie/attac...112_091556-jpg http://www.crappie.com/crappie/attac...112_092005-jpg http://www.crappie.com/crappie/attac...112_094703-jpg http://www.crappie.com/crappie/attac...112_100101-jpg
First, I had the pleasure of spending some on-water fellowship with YaBoyMaxWeezy. Thanks for the bait...I found an unopened bag later in my stash. It's called BG Devil's Grin. I caught two with it.
Second: I stopped fishing around 1000-ish and decided I would just explore well south of Sharps Ford Road bridge. I boated a bit short of the lost bridge. What a beautiful section of Cotaco Creek. I think I saw more kingfisher birds ever. Fished a bit more after my exploring.
Now for the fishing. Started around 0630. Fishing wasn't like the last trip but it is always great being on the water. Water temp was 65-66 degrees. Clarity was about 1-2 feet. Indian Creek has clearer water. Still no current, And, the creek is about as low as I have ever seen it. Had an even catch of keepers and shorts. Gave away a total of ten 11-12 inch fish to several different folks...maybe a few 10 incher's. Rest were 8 inchers or less...certainly all released. Total: 20. Big fish was 12 inches and 14oz. Just another great day. Sorry if the pics are sideways again.

Fishing is a passion...not catching. Enjoy each precious time we are given to enjoy our great outdoors!
A friend and I decided to fish Wheeler Friday starting around lunch and fished till dark. Water temp was 66.5 and clear. Gville dam was only pulling 10K cfs while we were out. I have seen Wheeler lower, but I've never fished it this low before. We need some rain!!:deadhorse
We first fished the Paintrock mouth with little success. Managed 5 keepers but all under 11 inches. The small stripe are all over the place in there. Its the time of year when they push the baitfish on the bank (a cool sight to see). We next went to Gville dam area and fished my usual "Go-To" spots and we caught a few. I could actually see fish on the depthfinder but they were not feeding.
So we drove all the way down to the Flint where I caught some a week ago in treetops. Well the water had dropped another 2 feet so the treetop crappie decided to move elsewhere. We even tried some dropoffs nearby with no success.
My final plan did not pan out, We fished bluffs not too far from the flint with no success. However the small spotted bass were all over the place.
Including all species, we caught probably 50 fish. Only 8 keeper crappie and a few shorts. I gave them away to a father and son at ditto fishing for catfish. It was a great time on the water, however some current would be nice!
We used Monkey Milk and KY Bluegrass Bobby G's.
