Default Kayak report 11/5 Limestone Bay

Fished from about 9:00 until 1:30 today. Spider rigged in Limestone bay and into the creek I caught 6 short crappie and several white bass and gar all fish released. The water temp was 68 to 70 degrees and the only color the crappie bit was black and chartreuse.

I am glad you were able to get on the water. Fishing is fun. Being on the water is fun. Not every day is a limit...hopefully next time. I spent the weekend off the water. Went to Buster's yesterday and bought reload of 275 jigs to donate to my favorite laydowns. Also took the opportunity to re-spool the reels. Now all we need is some rain and cooler water temps.

Spaceman cooler water temps hopefully will be the ticket. I am just learning to spider rig..and working with a depth finder on the kayak so I am pleased with the outing. DB put me on some Crappie Hunter Rods and they did seem to make a difference. Is Busters a good place to buy jigs in bulk? I have not been in there in years. If I keep this spider rigging up I can see I am going to use more jigs than I have in the past.

I got a great deal on 1/32, 1/24, and 1/16. I keep plenty on hand. I use unpainted plain lead heads with a barb that helps hold the bait. I know this may be controversial for some, but I find little difference in catch with painted jig heads vs plain lead heads. Busters offers some choice with different size hooks and he makes some with red hooks. I'll pm you what I paid for 275 jigs.

Thanks for the report, sounds like another solid good day on the water. Hopefully they bless you with some keepers.
