Default 1st trip of the season, Cotaco and Indian Creek, 5 Oct

Took my son before sunrise yesterday morning to do some early scouting as the water temps will soon drop more. Fished until about 1030. We moved quite often. Bite was consistent. In both creeks crappie were easy to find. Mostly small, 7- 8 inches. My son did catch the big fish for the day. It was 12.25 inches and an even 1lb. Total catch was 16-18...all released. Baits were BG monkey milk and white marabou jig. Water temperature was 78 degrees.

I fished Cotaco last Friday, water temp was around 76-78. Caught about 30 or so, only 15 or so measured, but I threw them back because I don't really like keeping anything less than 11".

I fished Shoal Creek (bottom of the Gvill dam) Sunday and the water temp was 77 at the front of the creek and 71 at the back where it gets shallow, caught 5-6 that day.

Fished Cotaco this morning, water temp was 77, caught 6-7 all were small.

Fish were mostly caught on Blue ice BGs.
