I got an email that the Madison County Lake opened back up on the 1st of September, so I made a trip out today since the wind was forecast to be light. I fished 7AM till about 1PM, single pole on brush piles. Best bait was a 1/16oz Marabou jig in white. The fish were 8 to 10 feet deep. I kept half a limit of 10 to 11 inch Crappie, returned another dozen or so short fish. Water was clear with visibility of about three feet and 82 degrees. The thermocline is set up at about 11 feet, no fish below that depth on the fish finder all day.
