Made the trek to Guntersville this morning and took Murphy with us. Old battery charger I use to charge the cranking battery obviously doesn't work any more because when I went to raise the big motor off the stop it would barely raise. Weighed just turning back around and making the two hour drive back home. Decided to just use the trolling motor since we were in our general area but would have to fish w/o electronics or live well. Unloading was an adventure. Love my son but under pressure he freezes. Slid off the trailer and all seemed well. He finally figured how to lower the Terrova and promptly ran it at warp speed toward the ramp. Met him at two feet deep in my shoes and socks and finally got him to hit the constant button and shut the motor off. Once that dust settled we got out and basically guessed where the channel was. All in all not a bad outing from 7 - 11 AM. Caught (9) crappie with biggest being 1.56 lbs (not shown) and two bass with a 3.25 lb Large. Crappie were scattered but w/o electronics I couldn't tell you any type of pattern other than luck. Stopped at Advance on the way home and bought a new charger. Going to start picking up aluminum cans so I can buy the new Minn Kota MK 460PC. Going to mount another battery dedicated for electronics so I will be able to charge both trolling batteries, cranking/livewell battery, and dedicated electronics battery all with one plug. All in all a good day to be above ground.

Glad you got to go spend time with son and caught some fish. You did better than I probably would have under the circumstances. I have had some days like that and it will test you to the limit sometimes. Let me know if I can assist you in getting everything set up like you want. Congrats for sticking with it and making it a successful adventure. Love the pics.
