I fished another section of the Flint River this morning, putting in at Hwy 431 and working up stream. I caught a couple dozen Crappie, but none that were over 9 inches. Also caught gills all morning, a few shellcrackers and several bass. All fish returned for another day. Best bait was a 1/32oz Beetle Spin in Orange and Black. Crappie all came off the 1/16oz VMC Hot Skirt Glow Jig in pink again. Water was clear with visibility of 36 inches and 69 degrees at daylight.
Thanks for the report Ditch...sounds like a lot of fun.
Surprised me a little, I caught four shellcracker all about 10 inches. I didn't know the Flint River had a lot of Redear.
Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.
Still sounds like it was a lot of fun DB and your line got stretched a lot.
Bob D,
Tossing a small spinner and catching panfish reminds me of when I was young fishing farm ponds. It's always nice to return to those roots.
