Default Suggestions for a place to stay out of the wind Kayak fishing around Decatur.

Thinking about going out tomorrow morning in my kayak and wondering what might be a good place to stay out of the wind in the Decatur area. I had thought about White Springs but have not been in there in years. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If I don't go this weekend I can always put it on the list of places I need to go.

    Thanks.

I don't mean to sound all meteorological but it really depends on which way the wind is blowing. Obviously our cold fronts move differently than warm fronts from the gulf. I would pick a spot on a narrow creek (upper flint or lower limestone creek) with high banks. Cast using the wind or possibly find a wind break and cast far enough so the wind is hitting the bobber and not u. Let the water chop that cork around! Also on windy days I have found its alot easier (if their bitting) to find that good wind break and get out of the kayak to cast if possible. U don't have to worry about any small sideways wind gusts pushing u around to where u can get more casts in!!

Jayce15, Thanks, I have fished Flint all of my life so I was looking for something new to fish and explore in my kayak. I have been looking at Limestone Creek up from the bay on Google Maps is this the area you are talking about?

North End of Limestone Bay, either Limestone Creek or Beaverdam Creek areas near Pryer Road.
