I'm looking for some areas on Neely or coosa between or above Weiss I only have equipment to jig. Went below Neely today but didn't like the drop in water level or the dozen bass I caught. I did manage 1 13" female. I fished up around cave springs ga ten years ago but I can't remember where I put in I think I went towards cedartown from cave springs and there was a ramp and I went upstream to a cut and caught them good but all my maps and logs burnt in my fire. If this sounds familiar to anyone please let me know or any other advice I'm staying in ohatchee thanks.

Been trying to reply for awhile in a bad area I like to find brush and pitch or vertically jig depending on the depth and structure the one today was on a break from 4 to 7 deep on a lay down.

The fish are working there way to the bank. We trolled yesterday when we found them .08 with 1/32 heads and off and on the trolling motor was the key. Wind got up went into a pocket and well we could smell them. Sorry best way to describe it. Pulled out corks and bam had fish throwing to rip rap shooting docks shade was not always the ticket

If you put in in Cave spring you were on Big cedar creek and no where near Weiss lake. Fish are all over Weiss deep and shallow. A lot of fish around banks on structure. Could give you a ramp but don't know how much you know about Weiss. Weiss is still low. Be careful very easy to tear up a bunch of stuff.
If you put in anywhere on the lower end of Neely Henry, Go to Lakeshore(First body of water on Neely Henry that has Hwy77 running through it), Bridge Creek, or Shoal creek. All these places have piers/brush and the fish should be on them. White Hair tails seem to work best in 1/32 or 1/24. I think they could still be caught trolling too up shallow.
What jbundslabber said. Put in at lake shore, I bet you could catch a bucket full before you leave there. Lots of lay downs on lower end.
Wow thanks for all the response! I fished the upper coosa today right above brushy. I only managed 13 keepers today all 6' of water or less. I'm going to be honest Weiss scares me I know how dangerous it is but it's killing me to not fish it. I have only fished Guntersville and Neely Henry and not used to running these in the channel lakes. I should have bought a navionics card and fished it. If it's not storming Thursday I think I'm going make myself go there. What's near jrs marina my daughter is staying near there? Anyway thanks for the help.
