Got on the water around 730 am and fished just above the dam on the east side, first cove where Bay Springs is at. Plenty of bait in the water, but the colder morning temps pretty much had them locked up. We long lined and shot docks - caught 5 fish that wouldn't measure. Wind got up so we moved over to the other side with similar results.
Wound up at Yellow Creek with large numbers of fish holding in 18-24 FOW. Long lining produced a few small fish but nothing of any size....until it got to be 330 pm. Then fish just turned on. We caught about 40 fish between 330 and 500pm with 11 good keepers - long-lining BG Blue Thunder baby shad. The fish seemed to be moving around the deep water and we caught the majority coming to jigs at about 16 feet deep. Overall, a very good day.
