    Default Guntersville Report 3/12/16

Me and my son caught these in about 1 hrs. time. He didn't want to do any longlining, just wanted to single pole it. We wound up fishing like he wanted to. We drove 45 min. to the lake and put the boat in and after 1 hr. of fishing the rain gods give us a visit and we got soaking wet. Trailer the boat and 45 min. drive back home. That is how it goes sometimes I guess. Glad we were able to catch a few. Found them on baitfish off of a spawning flat in 8 fow. Black/chart. and blue/chart. were the colors. The son caught his biggest crappie to date 16". We had several throw backs and throwed back a few small gills also.Name: PA290170.jpg

Glad to hear you were able to get your son out and catch a few. Sometimes it's the crazy trips with the rain and all that burn the best memories. My son and I still laugh about a similar type of rainy trip we made one time. !6" fish is a nice one!! Congrats DT.

What part of the big G were you fishing? Up river toward goosepond , the honey comb or browns creek? There were a lot of boats a the honeycomb launch today ,but I figured most were bassing it.

Congratulations wish you could have fished longer. I'll have to agree with your son I like to cast one pole. Nothing wrong with long lining I just like one pole.
