I got to get on the water for a short while yesterday. We first went to Bellefonte with nothing to show for it, unless you count a 15 lb drum. We never found any bait or crappie anywhere near the causeway. I talked to 4 other boats and they reported the same.

We took out and went down river to another spot that has been known for early shallow fish. We caught three keepers using a jig and bobber over the old grass. Most of the water was 4 ft. deep. I talked to two other boats that had been there since daylight. They had about 15 per boat and said they caught them early. Also they said they caught some in the later afternoon.

So, I made the note that crappie are being caught early morning over old grass in 4ft of water. The best color was blue grass and Watermelon Wine.
