Even thought the winds were brisk, out of west at 5-15 with gusts, still went and fished. Me and bud needed a day out so we hit the 69 ramp around 1pm and motored out to the causeway bridge and fished for about 3 hours. My bud caught one bass up close to bank but I caught nada. Saw plenty of bait on Humminbird but few fish and had no bites. Left there and fished further south, Beach Creek area, and nada. I finally caught one striper close to a boat house, but that was it for the day. Surface temps were around 48F but just couldn't get anything to bite at any depth - minnows and BG jigs. Even though we didn't catch bumpkus, it was still a good day on the water. It will get better.

Good report, don't feel to bad ever since the high water from the last rain about a week ago, the fishing has for some reason slowed, at least in the big G areas both bridge and bank!!Talked to a guy that was fishing under Short creek bridge this past Saturday and he said the week end before they had 30 plus fishing right where they were but only had 2 stripe to show after 2 hours fishing. Was the water still full of float some and trash?? I am hoping they get the lake lowered this week although looks like a bad weekend coming up high near 30 on Sat with 20 mph nnw winds UGH
