I fished Madison County Lake today from 6:30AM till about 12:00. I had a great day working single pole on isolated brush in 10 to 25 feet of water. Best bait was a 1/16 oz Chartreuse Marabou jig. I also caught several on a 1/32oz Yellow Road Runner casting to scattered brush. Basically I’d pull two or three Crappie off each piece of structure before moving on. I left then biting, the wind just got too be to much for me. I caught 60 or 70 Crappie for the day along with several small Bass including one that would go about four pounds. I kept a limit of Crappie with most at around 10 inches.
The water was very clear with visibility of about five feet and 41 degrees.

Love those fish at MCL! They aren't huge but they're steady. Good job DB! Try any of the trout while you were there?
You make me blush with embarrassment. Great report.
Bob D, I got my fill of Trout when I lived in Missouri, just chase the Crappie now. There must have been 30 cars and trucks there when I left fishing for Trout. Except for a couple bank fisherman I had the lake to myself.
Boy Howdy that's a fine mess of fish there
Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.
You are the man
Nice catch!
Couldn't stand it DB so I went out this afternoon in all that wind and caught my 5 trout in 1:15. Total weight was 4.85 lbs, nice fish.
