cooler water means more active feeding. its like you and i we want to get outside when the weather cools off from a long hot summer. In spring its the other way around crappie seek warmer water to make there eggs ripen and they move shallow in search of warmer temps. once the water gets below 70 its on like donkey kong. in the dead of winter crappie tend to hold deep or move up creeks in search of springs and deep pools where they feed heavy on small prey. im no expert im just going on my own experience.![]()
