Where did the black nose originate. Is it a cross between a black and white crappie? Just wondering

I believe they are a hybrid, but I'm unsure. I've caught them in Texas, Georgia, Missouri and Alabama. Every time I've caught one it's been in or near a river or creek system. That makes me believe the likelihood off a single white and single black cut off and breeding in an isolated pool.

according to Ky game and fish div, its a recessive gene that when bred together with like specimens , comes through every time. They are black crappie and They recently stocked almost 300K in Dale hollow lake.

In the September issue of crappienow online there is a great article on the Tenn restocking program. A good read how tenn is taking care of their crappie lakes. They are restocking with black nose crappie making it possible to keep up with their progress. Wish Alabama would learn from them. Everyone should read this article there is a lot of information that would help crappie fishing for years to come.
