Managed 14 keepers, 9 1/2 to 13 inches with about that many thro-backs from 8 till 11 this morning. Had to get off the water and home to AC before I melted. Caught on black/chart and Tennessee shad curly tails. Heat index at 11 was 108 according to Fox 10.

How deep were they?

They were about 6' deep in 8 to 9' FOW, the average depth of the lake I was fishing, David Lake. I as slow trolling 6 poles. I forgot to notice the water temp. but I know it had to be upper 80 s.

I enjoy catching them scattered on open water flats more the any other time of year.

I couldn't by a white perch this time last year but I learned a lot from listening to the pros on this site.
