Default Kayak Trip Report, Bradford on Redstone Arsenal

I fished Bradford from 7:00AM till about 12:00PM with a single pole on stick ups and lily pad edges . The best bait was the Hot Skirt jig in blue and white. I kept a limit and returned many, many more back to the water for another day. The water was 77 degrees.

Sounds like a Great Day once again. Who would have thought you could catch a limit of crappie on July 4th. Is Bradford on the lower end of barren fork creek ? Where do you put in at ? I always look forward to seeing your posts.

Bradford Sinks is on Redstone Arsenal. There's a small creek that connects it to Barron Fork during the summer. It's in a Redstone Test Center area and seldom open. When it is open you have to get a daily permit from the Redstone Sportsman center for entry. I don't think I've ever gone without catching a limit plus, but fish usually run a little smaller and are mostly Black Crappie. There's many down trees and lillypads off the banks out to about 6 feet in depth. The south end has a very deep hole (close to 20 feet) with most water at 6 feet of less. The water is also very clear.
