Not sure. I use a Garmin Oregon 600. It will get me within 10 or 15 feet of what I mark. That's close enough spider rigging.

Easy test, go to an open field or softball park. Mark something like the pitchers mount. When try to get back to the waypoint.

I've down loaded apps on my phone but haven't marked any way points because I've only been shooting piers.

Gonna start adding way points as I start spider rigging.

Anyone use smart phone GPS or fishing apps to do this?

I don't use GPS apps, but I would be interested in knowing which ones you have. I do have some map software that I use. Works great when looking for docks close to deep water.
