    Default Weiss Lake, Cowan Creek

Anyone have any information on Weiss, fishing conditions?
Have schedule a trip the first of next week too fish, Cowan Creek.
Never fish that creek also worried about all the rain.

I'm considering going down too. Some friends of mine are going and have invited me tag along. I love fishing Cowan Creek & Spring Creek. I'd like to know if they're on the banks.

Don't know about Cowan Creek or Spring Creek, but this is a report from the 8th : Fishing Report and most all the other guides and internet sources seem to echo the same.

Fished last weekend but not in cowan creek. Majority of the fish I marked and caught were in 12 to 15 feet of water and were full of eggs. Don't know why they won't move up. I live on the upper end of the lake but have had to fish the lower end to get any consistent numbers. This could change any day. All this rain is going to really muddy things up. If they are pulling water cowan creek may be a good bet. May be less muddy than some other areas. I would suggest flexibility if you are familiar with the lake. Be willing to fish other areas if needed.

My friends caught 78 keepers yesterday. Had a lot of throw backs. They caught most in 5' of water.

I fished in Cowan Creek Saturday and caught about 20 crappie and almost that many catfish. The crappie were on the small side with only about half being legal keepers. The ones we caught were 12-14 feet deep.

We've fished Mud Creek Spring Creek last night. We caught 48 keepers. Fished a couple of hours today in Cowan creek & caught a dozen. Going out tonight, weather permitting, to fish Cowan Creek again.
