I fished Logan Martin yesterday. I was spider rigging and casting jigs. Caught 25 crappie with 22 of them good keepers. Almost all of them were male fish. Caught them around creek channels with cover nearby in 14 feet of water.

Roger had those fish already spawned out? Still not hearing reports of bloody tails anywhere yet with regularity. Not sure what is going on with this years spawn. Thanks.

Well I'm no crappie expert but I thought all along over my short crappie career all the times I was shooting piers this time of year and wearing em out that they were spawning then. I now know that wasn't the case. But I'm learning a lot from this site. Glad I joined. Just tryING to figure it all out and get a game plan for each different time of the year.

And Mr bread man... every time I did well on piers I shoot on the main channel where they are the deepest most of the time. High boat life piers that you can really get under and fish every point from different angles. Seem like when the sun was higher and the water under the piers were really shady thats when I did the best.

I guess now would be a good time to go back to shooting piers? I guess if I get to go this weekend I'll try both. Anyone do any good trolling clear creek? I failed to find much structure on the left side wit my di sonar. But caught babies ok.. I dunno. Lol I love crappie cause its such a challenge but I hate the fact that my whole thought process has been wrong all this time.

Mr bread man I'd be more than willing to take you to all my regulars some time. Let you see how i do it. You take me trolling and get some pointers?

How do you guys fish Logan Martin during the hot summer months? Troll? Deep? Anyways. I created a fb group a while back to do the same as this get info share stories and reports if anyone wants to join.

Size: 60.9 KBI think the crappie are done spawning. The females looked skinny and some of the males were a little scraped up. As for fishing Logan Martin during the summer I go somewhere else, I can't fish with all the boat traffic over there. As far as trolling Clear Creek I have fished it several years ago but have not in the past few years.

I fished LM Sunday evening for the most part there done I caught a couple still on bed and some small females that haven't spawned out. Most were on docks and done spawning. Only problem is that the water is down and anyone can catch them under docks that makes it hard to find a dock that has not been fished to death.

Going to Logan Martin this evening. Hopefully the rain will be kind... lol
gonna shoot piers. Try my hand at that and see how the do. Hopefully the rain isn't an issue. Luckily I can get under some of the piers that I fish.
