Default Town Creek / Belefonte 4-17-2015

Fished from 6:30 to 9:30 this morning, caught 38 fish all but 2 of them were short fish. I did find a group of fish in 7 fow that was huge. They ranged from 2' to 7' over a mud bottom with no cover around. They way they kept moving around they were feeding on a school of bait fish although I did not see anything on the sonar, no structure around either. Went back to the stumps and found more fish. The action was fast when you found them. Water temp was 69 degrees. Caught all fish on Monkey Milk on a 1/16 ounce chartreuse jig head. Hits were hard and solid with few misses and the fish were hooked deep in the mouth. The 2 fish that weren't short were nice thick 12 plus inch fish. There was two guys trolling jigs with a nice set up. Saw them pick up a few fish bit they said they were having a slow day when we talked. All and all it was a good few hours and satisfied my need to feel a thump on the end of the line.

I got a little bit confused. Are you saying that you only caught two keepers out of 38? I saw the part about the group of fish that was "huge", and can't figure out if you caught some good ones or if all were just small fish.

Do I need to go tomorrow? lol

A huge group to fish meaning a large number on the sonar. That group of fish were in a 10' by 10' area and thick.

Hey Jack. Where do you launch for the area you're fishing? Just curious because I'm not familiar with the area. Can't place it at all. Thanks

I have fished bellfonte and had a lot of success catching gills, may try to slip down there between the rain and catch a few crappie. My down time has been covered up with rain

I know the feeling Barry. My scheduled off days have all had high percentages of rain for the last month.
