Default Town Creek / Belefonte 4/14/15

Saw a break in the rain and headed to the water. Fished 11 am till 5 pm. Found a few on the banks but most came from from 12' of water over structure. Had some males with spawning colors but they weren't on the banks. The bite was hard and they engulfed the jig. Caught 28 and put 10 in the live well. The fish were feeding on the edge of the current. Used Monkey Milk and a red and white hand tied hair jig.

The females I cleaned were nowhere near going on bed maybe 2 to 3 more weeks.

Wow what a messed up spawn this year. Has the water turned over in there and messed them up some more? Like the look of that jig, good job.

    Great report.

I wonder if the cold weather very late in the winter, then the quick warm up has mess everything up. I'm scared the water is going to get to warm to quick and they'll move off without spawning.

I am wondering the same thing Ditch. I have to go with the old saying life will find a way. Maybe the water coming down the river system will be a little cooler.
