Buddy and I fished South Sauty - all over the place, yesterday and only managed 4 fish. The bridge had plenty of boats but I only saw one boat catching a few. We tried all our usual spots and we found no milfoil at all. Usually we have good luck when the milfoil is about 18 inches under top at these places. I wonder if the two snow spells and the latest cold fronts have retarded the milfoil. We didn't find any big pods of fish, anywhere. We did find a few large groups of minnows with a few fish around them, but on the inside of the causeway and bridge little was happening. We also took a ride down to Town Creek and very little was happening there either.
Finally at 2:00 pm we caught our first fish and then another two and then....nothing. We were fishing 5-6 feet of depth with very little luck, and then started fishing deep waters along steep drop-off and caught a couple more. Very slow and hard work yesterday. I hope it begins to ramp soon - before hot weather gets here and shuts it off.
It was a nice day to be on the water though.

Yes, it was and I was thankful for that. When my head touched the pillow it was lights out.
I know that feeling I was in the kayak fishing Town Creek/ Belefonte, Tadpole was there too.
