Fished Mon for 4hrs behind Decatur boat harbor with my new trolling setup and caught 8 slab keepers. Went back Tues and caught 17. Went back Wed before work and caught 16. I am still trying to figure the trolling out. These were my first trips with my new setup a 16-52 flatbottom that I built a double front seat for and push 10-16ft rods and 6-14ft rods. I caught around 15 throw backs during the 3 days, but most of the keepers were 10"+ fish. Also caught several stripe, cats, bream, gar and even caught 2 turtles. I trolled jigs and had a rainbow of colors out. Any one color didnt out perform the other or I would have tried to key in on that color. Mostly had variations of white and chartreuse with some pinks and greens in the mix. The water was fairly stained and was rolling pretty good. Still trying to figure out what speed and depth to troll at, this is a whole new ball game to me. Until this year on only casted jigs in and around tree tops and flats. I think the trolling is going to be fun once I get more familiar with it. Going to try them again when I get off work. If I get on anything worth while I will be sure to post it up.
