Default Tuff four days on guntersville

For starters boat would not run. Now that it is running the fishing has been tuff. Embarrassed to say how many I have caught so far. Been fishing towne creek and south sauty and bites have been few and far between. Have three days left to salvage this trip. Sure hope the crappie get hungry soon.

You're not alone in your frustration. I believe Wednesday thru Friday will be good this week with the cloud cover coming in. Saturday and Sunday I fished Town Creek. I managed 9 good fish and only 2 short fish Saturday. The skip jacks kept coming in and I didn't move on to another place fast enough so I burned a lot of daylight. Lesson learned. Several guys that moved and adjusted caught close to limits Saturday. Sunday TVA didn't pull any water and the lake was up from what it was Saturday and I had trolling motor problems for the first hour or so. I only managed one 13 inch fish Sunday and left at 10:30. Nobody else was catching any either so I didn't feel so bad. FWIW....every female that I caught was full of eggs and close to fully developed. Water temp was 54 to 56.

Hey Wiley, thanks for the reply. I heard the same about town creek from Saturday so tried it Sunday. Got a late start due to boat issues and got skunked. Planning to get an early start tomorrow, probably town creek, that way if there are no clouds again tomorrow I can come back to the camp and take a nap during the middle of the day and go back in the evening. At some point these fish have to eat something.

They're there, just stay after them. You're right they got to eat sooner or later.

They have been tough to find lately. Stable weather and water levels should get them turned by on. I have caught enough skip Jacks the past couple of days.

Well, make it 5 tuff days now. Water temps 55 to 58 in the creeks, water still high and no current. Lot of frustrated fishermen out there today. Clouds starting to roll in tonight, sure hope they start doing something tomorrow. Btw, I did eat fresh crappie for dinner tonight, that means I caught at least one good keeper.

These mild days don't require much power generation so the dams aren't generating = no moving water to speak of = very slow bite.

The only hopes for flow is traffic through the locks.

Went yesterday. Water temps where I fished were 61 to 65 degrees. I caught mine shallow just off the spawning areas, but I saw people catching them under bridges, too. So they are scattered all over the place migrating in. Same with the bass. Fished a couple hours for them in the end. Caught one giant bass in 3 foot of water full of eggs, but most of them are still outside the spawning areas. I caught my crappie from 4 to 7 foot on ultralight and jigs. Not a great day, but caught a few.

It was tough yesterday AM, 18 Mar 15. Started out at Beech Creek; water was dingy and wind came up with 2 foot rollers. Put the boat back on the trailer and headed to Honeycomb. A few people under the bridge there but didn't see them pulling anything in. Went across and threw at some docks with no luck except a 2 pound bass I snaked out from under one of the docks. Water was clear at Honeycomb, temp was 58F but nothing was biting for us. Maybe next week will be better.
