    Default Guntersville, 28 Feb

Linked up with Crappie Seeker early morning at 0530. We got to the spot we wanted to start at around 0550. We anchored of the channel and fished back towards the bank at the edge of the weed line. We started fishing around 0600 and we got bit right away. Fish were at about 5' and taking the minnows under a cork. We started to throw BG jigs in Monkey Milk and Glacier and a 1/16 pink jig head and also caught a couple of good quality fish. We had 5 large fish within 20 minutes from minnows and jigs. Water temp was 38.3 when we started. When the water movement went slack the fish fell off, so we decided to go to a couple of other areas. We got a couple more fish at the few places we stopped. We would throw up into the shallow water and brought the jigs out to open deep water and the fish would pick it up as it fell into the channel. We had a total of 16 fish, 15 Blacks and 1 White (11 males and 5 females), we called it a day at 1300. Water temp was 41.9 when we pulled out, the wind was awesome all day to deal with.

Y'all did a LOT better than I did today. I went to Town Creek and tried it for 2 1/2 hours just throwing BG baits. Never got a bite in 3 foot to 30 foot water. Water temp was 42 where I was fishing.

I just started crappie fishing last year and finally caught a few just as the spawn ended. Hoping to find them earlier this year.

Do not feel bad Wiley, there were several boats around us who never got a bite as well.
