Went this morning and did some dock shooting. Caught 12 crappie and a large mouth bass. I fished for 2 hours, the wind made it hard to keep the boat in position. Water surface temp was 46 degrees. Started at 6am. Electric Chicken did good until the sun got up then I switched to Monkey Milk.

Love that thump when shooting docks if they are aggressive. Congrats on a good day out and thanks for the report.
Were you fishing the marina? not that many docs around to fish are shoot.I know down river around Priston island is good.
I fished the Marina. I started out into the main river but the water was too rough for me. Had about 2' swells out there. I have been searching out new areas to add some options too my trip to avoid the wind.

I was talking to one of the locals that fish the boat slips, and they like to fish the around the boats that people live on. Said the heat from the boats draws the fish in.

Dock shooting is productive year round with the exception of the spawn when they are doing the mating dance. I was catching them 3 to four feet deep over 7 feet of water. Jigs used were 1/32 ball head with a #2 red sickle hook. Started with a Bobby Garland Baby Shad in electric Chicken and then moved to Monkey Milk.
