So Sunday afternoon I loaded up the wife and kid to go find Swoopes Pond. We packed for a long haul. DVD player for the young un, snacks, drinks, we were set. Raining, cold and just not much else to do. I loaded the location on my phone and began to make my way the "back way"....lol. I just wanted to explore. I noticed about Trinity that I was being led through chickenfoot and everything was on the map. I thought how cool, wish I'd of had this when I was younger. After crossing 20 and closing in on the location, I took what looked to be a shortcut and was a named county road on the map. A half a mile later we were slap dead in the middle of a cotton field staring at a narrow cut in a treeline with standing water. My truck is just a 2wd and very light in the back. I got out and inspected and decided not to try it. I tried to back up and we were stuck. So I scouted the other side of the treeline and could see the paved road about 50 yards past it. I decided to gun it. It was hair raising to say the least, we made it and were only a little ways from what I figure is the launch.
My question and I'm trying to conceal this post because I've searched the sight and no one will really tell where the launch is. Do you need to ask permission to launch at the guys garage or is that actually public land? I'm dying to get in there this spring.
Good luck and stay warm.
Josh

You launch right back behind the house it is a public launch from what I have been told. I work with a guy whose house backs up to Swoops Pond he had a couple of boats tied up behind his house.
My GPS is outdated and can't be updated via Internet any more. It has taken me down several dirt roads and a dead end in a subdivision where a road used to be.
Not such a big deal in a car, but in our Motorhome pulling a car it got interesting at times. You can't back up when you tow a car, the wheels will lock up left or right, so unhitch, turn around, hook up and off you go.![]()
