    Default Guntersville Lake

Well I guess no one is fishing this big old Lake or no one is posting. I went Oct 29 what a great day no wind, sunny but boy was it HOT. The water was 67 deg when I started and 69 deg when I stopped at about 2:00PM. Not 0ne crappie but 1 2lb strip,1 yellow strip and 1 20 lb channel cat. After this cool spell does anyone know the water Temp in Gville creeks.
The bait balls that day were every where I fished from the water top all the way almost to the bottom. I think the crappie only had to open there mounth and they are full.
I tried a road bed from 6ft to 20 ft, also some bridges with jigs all colors.
Any help or replys would be great help.

Goose pond area is good in the morning using monkey milk and minnows. You will have to deal with skipjacks, stripes and bass fishermen other then that you will catch fish.

We fished Browns Creek area last week for 3 days- ended up with only 6 crappie- the striper were running good probably caught 50 all sizes- 10 lb Drum- and a few catfish. Saw several people fishing under the bridge on 69 - Going back tomorrow and see if the crappie are bite-n any better.

Gville Water temps, so I was told by a guy in a boat was running between 56 to 60 °.Water is down about a foot thanks to TVA, been running 44000 at the dam all week. Bridge fishing appears to be very hot BUT out of 19 cars I bet you if every one put the number of fish they caught yesterday morning in 1 bucket it would not be half full. Talked to one guy and he said every bridge they had come over from where he lived up toward Goose pond to down at 69 bridge was covered up with cars.Lots of bait lots of stripe, few crappie although when you do catch one its usually big. I managed 7(12inches or better) in 4 hours of fishing from bank ,went below Gville dam and caught another 4 in the late morning, All on BG blue thunder.

I fished at the north side of the dam against the lock wall on the Wheeler side this morning for about an hour. I caught 2 small stripe. Friend of mine caught 1 real good slab before I left.

I managed 23 today that went from 10 to 15 inches trolling jigs in 16-19 FOW fishing 12' deep. Most of the day the bite was very light, so light that if you didn't have the rod in your hand you would never know you had a hit. Used Patriot, Monkey Milk, and Blue Grass BG jigs. Fished from 7:30 am till 4:30 pm. Over all a pretty good day on the Big G.

Was over at the Scottsboro park the other day and didn't catch a single crappie. Caught over a hundred shad though between two people which is why I imagine the crappie weren't around, they sure are fun when they're in a frenzy at least. Caught some whites and a hefty ~2lb yellow too. All on monkey milk garlands.
