I'm going to pick up some 14s this year myself. Have 12, 10, 9, & 8s. Have seen some folks that even use 16s! The Pro rod from B&M is what I'm looking at.

Thinking about buying new rods. Was wondering if anyone uses a 14' pole to long line? Thinking about going 14' 12' 10' and 8' out each side of the boat. Just thinking out loud. Any recommendations on brand.

Best rods I have used for the money and tough as nails.

I use 14 ft rods off the front when long lining. I use BNM BGJP's because I already have them. They work fine for me. I would like to try the Southern rods.

I use two 12s and a 10 out of the front. I live on Weiss and do the majority of my fishing there. On Weiss there is a three pole limit so that set up works pretty good. I have fished 14, 12 ,10 on both sides at Guntersville. Works good until it gets windy. Then the long pole sometimes gets aggrevating. Also there are so many big green carp at Gville too many poles bring massive line tangles when you hook one. Rees says 14s good so go with it. Them Miss. boys are Crappie feeshermen!
B-n-M and hi-tech holder for me. I got 16 12 and 8 in the front
