I would also like to know what happens at a "camp"
Crappie camp of Crappie.com started in Arkansas by Jerry Blake and Darryl Morris. I am sure several others were involved but Jerry and Darryl planned and hosted them. This was the early years of Crappie.com They had informal seminars by those that knew the new techniques and Crappie patterns. They camped a few days, fished, had a small tounament and a fishfry on the weekend.
Looked like fun so a few on the ga board wanted to do it. I set up a date on lake Harding and named it Slabfest and with the help of papasage and shinerunner off it went. Two of the original events are still held each year on Lake Talquin in the fall and lake Blackshear each spring. This is about the ten year anniversary.
So really a Crappie camp/ Slabfest is just people getting together to enjoy Crappie fishing, learn or teach about Crappie fishing, camping, a big fish fry from the catch, a fruitjar tournament and just a great meet people passionate about Crappie fishing.
Fishing Thursday and Friday.
Friday night hot dog supper.
With longline trolling seminar
And river lake fishing seminar
Saturday morning fruitjar tournament
Fish and grits after weigh in with dock shooting workshop and competition. And a tightlining/spider rig seminar.
How does that sound.
Late March, early April and I am in.
April 10th-11th
Those dates work for me Smitty. Let me know what I need to do.
Attachment 176488 Here's a history showing the lake levels at that time. We should be close to full pool on those dates if the rains come. :ThumbsUp
Works for me. Can the mods sticky this thread?
