Default Guntersville and Cranking this Past Weekend...

STUNK!! I struggled! Fished for 2 hours Friday afternoon and only caugth 5, 3.5 hours Saturday morning and caught 7. The floating grass is becoming a pain in my.... fishing pole!! These fish have been weird this summer, think I need to try some night fishing.

We tried under a bridge for a couple of hours Sat, 1 crappie and 3 stripe. The problem under the bridges are all the millions of minnows!!! Everything is smashing them but we couldn't figure out the right depth for the crappie using Bobby G jigs. I feel if we had a small rooster tail it would have been on with the stripe! Water temp was only 80 to 81°,for the first of August that is cold!! maybe that's why cranking is so bad the crappie are still hanging in front of the bridges HA. We did not have any floating grass problem surprisingly. Yep if Call is struggling it is a weird summer!!Maybe this weeks hot weather will put them on the creek banks!!

The bait is everywhere you go. I will say, the fish we do catch are decent size and extremely healthy!

Not to worry Ditch, theres more danger of you catching them all( although you do release a lot) when you do get to go than Call and the rest of us crank pullers(grin) as we aint pulling in your skinny, protected from the big boats, water !!Hope you are able to get out soon and post some more of those rub it in our face pics HA .Just kidding as I look forward to your catch pics.
