    Default Guntersville Report, 3 May

Got out with CrappieSeeker this morning and got some time on the water. We started out by long line trolling and put a couple of fish in the live well but not tearing them up like a few weeks ago. Was trolling at 1.0 mph and using a 1/16 and 1/24 double rig. Best colors today were blue/chartreuse and orange sicle Southern Pro Hot Grubs. We started jumping around and did not find any fish in other places so went back where we started. We watched two guys that were pushing corks put fish after fish in their boat. Well, we had some minnows so we started tight lining as well, managed a couple more fish, but we were nowhere the experts that those other two guys were. Ended up with 12 nice 12-15" fish. 11 of them were Whites and 1 Black, all spawned out in 10-12 FOW. The wind started getting up pretty good and the fish stopped biting at 1230 so we called it a day. Sure wish I could figure these fish out better than this.

Did you have any one jig lines out. Sometimes your going underneath the fish with two jigs, at least I think so. Lol. I will always go to a pole or two with one jig if I'm fishing with two and doing no good.

They were right off the bottom. All fish came off the bottom hook. The guys we saw pushing corks were bouncing the bottom too.
