Default Beautiful Day on the Water

Decided to head to Logan Martin to do a little bass fishing, but since I still had rod holders on from taking my neighbor crappie fishing decided I'd play with the crappie a little first. Arrived at fishing spot at 6 am and started long lining and within seconds had two rods down. Well from 6 am until 9 am i caught 55 keeper crappie, all released since my freezer is slap full. Caught just as many trash fish. As you can see from the pic I was pretty busy for three hours. Water temp was 66 degrees, best color was lemon lime and fish were scattered every where in 7 to 12 feet of water.

After 9 am decided to bass fish for a few hours an caught 20 plus spotted bass around docks on a shakey head worm. Nothing huge but was fun. All in all a fantastic day on the lake. Was in T shirt by 8 am and wind stayed calm all day, couldn't ask for a better trip.

Good fishing. You got 'em figured out. Also so great you're not greedy and are putting them back!

I normally only fish for crappie from jan until mar and once I have enough in the freezer that I can eat crappie about once a week until jan rolls around I don't keep any more.

Congrats on a good day. It was a very nice day. The wife and I got to fish Neely Henry for 4 1/2 hrs and had a real good day ourselves.

Sounds like a great day. Did you ever end up going to any Barons games?
