Memorial service for Joseph Melvin Thomas, age 49, of Pell City, will be held Monday, April 21 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 at the church. Mr. Thomas died Thursday, April 17, 2014. He was retired from the Bessemer Police Department, member of the Coosa Crappie Club, currently employed with St. Clair County Transportation and he was a great cook. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Thomas; son, David (Brooke) Morrow; parents, Joe & Irma Thomas; sister, Kelli (Jay) Agnew; granddaughter, Caitlin Morrow; niece, Dr. Shelby Agnew. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Home of Grace in Vancleave, Mississippi. Condolences may be offered online at www.kilgroefh.com Kilgroe Funeral Home - Pell City will direct the service.
