I sacked 27 today. Water temp was back down to 58 where I was fishing. It was 62 last weekend. Had about 5 early, then it turned off and then the wind came on like an F5 tornado. Went and fished some boat houses out of the wind, but couldn't buy a bite, not even bass or bream. Finally, I noticed the amount of whitecaps had really decreased so I started long-lining again and picked up another 4 or 5. Wind laid down some more and I trolled a new area and got the rest in about an hour's time. Caught sackfuls of bass at the same time. Jeezus, I could no sooner get all the lines repaired and set and all heII would break loose. Boat a couple crappie, 2 or 3 bass, break off jigs, make repairs, untangle lines and get right back to business. 10 mins of down time every 10 mins of fishing. Caught majority on green and red jig heads with black/purple BG plastic and a purple/silverish BG somethingorother.......forget what it was called. The crappie are incredibly aggressive...........fight like 3 lb bass. I've never seen crappie fight like this, especially when long line catching them. Total of 24 white, 3 black, all males. Largest 14" with majority of fish 13".
