Fishing was very tough for us during our anual trip. We fished 3 days and caught 90 crappie. The fish averaged about 13" and we had several over 15". All fish were caught in Brown's Creek area with minnows in 12' of water fishing 6' deep. The warmest water temperature we found was 57 degrees.
The best fishing was 1/2 hour at daylight and 1/2 hour before dark.
The first day we fished the lower unit went out in the motor. We called around for a repair shop and Motor Mart recommended Alabama Marine just past the 431 bridge. So we went there to get the motor repaired.
I must say Larry was very helpfull and did a great job getting us going again. I would definitely use Alabama Marine again....Thanks Larry, for saving our trip.![]()
Good report
Good deal, Nice catch.....
Sounds like you made a good recovery to have 90 fish of that size! Well done, congrats.
what happened with the lower unit? lose a bearing or gear? glad ya got back on the water in a timely fashion! about three weeks ago I saw three guys load their big Stratos back on the trailer at Wheeler Dam and they had knocked the skeg clean off the 200 Optimax. glad ya got on some fish too, it's been a bit tough in G'ville, compounded by the bass tournaments
Nice.. Fished a couple of different areas long lining and ended up with 51 for 3 days. All nice slabs. Only one throwback. Water temp around 55 to 56 most places. Did get checked by the guys in the green pants.
