Default The ole "Crappie Rig" Report on Big G!

Well, here they are. I went to Big G bent on going old school on those crappie. I broke out the two hook crappie rigs we used as children and landed them papermouths. Even got a double or two and netted a few of their friends. Their great, great, great grand-dads should have schooled them about the crappie rig cause I guess I caught them off guard. I bounced the bottom a little and caught a lot. The wind came up like they said it would and nearly blew me off the lake, but I hung in there.

I should have taken a picture of right before dark. I had been fishing the open water, but went to this old bridge and caught a couple of real pretty rock bass. That was cool.

Anyway, score a few for the old crappie rig and minnow trick. It is a good method because sometimes you see the fish on the finder and they just don't bite. This way, I'd drift through, catch a few, mark the spot and then go back later with jigs and finish them off. Gettin' smarter in my old age.

Here's a pic of an unusual crappie rig double up.
