Default Kayak Trip Report, Indian Creek

Indian Creek was on fire this morning. I fished from a little before 7:00AM till about 12:00. I had a limit by 9:00AM and continued to catch and throw back fish till I left. Fish were in 12 to 18 inches of water, best bait was a 1/16 oz white marabou jig. Most Crappie were 12 to 14 inches long and all were fat and health looking.

    chuckster,

Today was single pole work. TVA dropped the bottom out, but the Crappie seemed to have picked where they wanted to spawn and were holding to the cover. I've never seen the water that low and it dropped anther foot while I fished. The rain will blow it out and muddy everything up for a week with the rain tonight.

I was in Indian creek from 11-2 today and didn't catch a thing. gonna have to get you to show me the ropes there. wanted to go to limestone bay but the water was insufficient to float my small flatbottom.

    riverboss,

Was that you that came by in the flatbottom when I was loading. I had a green kayak on top of a tan Nissan Xterra. I was talking with the bank fisherman.

yup , that was I. now I know who to look for. also know that you must have been up in barren fork where I wanted to go but the water was too low to get my flatbottom around the ends of those laydowns. was back there Monday and caught a few crappie and lots of bass. water was 2 ft deeper then......

Right at the entrance to the horseshoe bend on the right, the water was low enough to get under that big tree blocking the entrance. The water was only 24 inches or so, but all the crappie stayed when the water dropped, LOL.
