    Default Gville not good

Well I did get to Gville lake yesterday for about 3 hrs and it was not a good day for me and a friend. We tried from 2 ft to 17-19 ft with not bite. I was marking fish on the fish finder but could not get a single bite. We were fishing in a major creek that we did great last year but I guess the crappie have not moved into yet. The wind was to strong for me to try the creek channel in the lake but I guess that is fishing. We will try later and hope some people are having better luck than me.

How were you fishing?? Longlining or vertical? The main thing was what was the water temp?? its a matter of water temp right or so it seems with us on the big G right now.We cannot find any over 54° the last weekends and the fishng has been slow. This weather will not stay consistant ..Example today going to 78 by wed night down to 25 go figure. The few female crappie we have caught have eggs busting at the seems and need to lay soon but they got to have 60° to become fertile!!Hang in there when the big G heats up its unreal.

I have been finding water 53 to 57 degrees but the fishing is still slow. I have started catching some fish the last 2 weeks and they are beginning to slowly show up in places they normally would have been already. Just keep trying

Longlining Jigs. No minnows for me. Fished 8-12 foot water. The last two hours were best as the fish came up and fed right before dark. Even saw some bugs out as we were taking out. The approaching cold front likely turned them on. Now the cold weather will turn them off. I expect it will be Mon-Tue next week before temps get real.
    Saw 62.1 surface temperature.

g3fisherman i feel your pain. We had the same experience last friday. Surely they will move on up towards the shallows soon, that freezer aint gonna fill itself. I am planning on heading over there tuesday and check it out again.

I know what you mean G3 Honeycomb is the closet water from my house but right now its not paying off for me. I went Monday and you would have thought it was the weekend Snug Harbor ramp was so full you was lucky to find a spot to park and Sunrise Marina was the same only managed 13 fish the water was low low low lol You had to jump off the pier into your boat lol. Last week while the water was up found some good fish before dark along the causeway and the Grant bridge. The best fishing I have found lately is off the bank below the dam early in the morning and into the night fishing up at the wall minnow bite as well as the jig produced some good fish had some good 14 and 15 inch fish. I went yesterday about 11am stayed till about 230pm water was down but the fish was there I walked from one end to the other trying to get away from the stripe but they were in there thick caught so many I just give up on the crappie though I did have 15 keepers and kept 19 of the biggest stripe. Oh well its just a matter of time for that water to hit that magic number then we all can get our fish on! lol Yall all have a gooden and catch one for me
