They are where the bait went
No that's not true, the town creek bridge by the state park is about 22-28 feet next to the pylons and about 15 yards off the bridge to the west it gets close to 40. The honeycomb and town creek bridges are pretty hit and miss. I've had decent luck there a few days after a warm front moves in and the fish are moving into the shallower areas. Also, towncreek bridge is probably one of my favorite summer time crappie spots.
The particular creek I fish is 12 in the deepest spots.
up here on chicamauga they suspend in the deepest water when a cold front comes thru ,and as the day warms they suspend shallower in the water column
I got 3 under the bridge then started bouncing around. I found a dock full of 7 in fish o keepers there. Spent a couple hrs working the channel and a couple on shallow flats neither produced a fish. I'm going out in the river tomorrow and try a few old spots.
Let us know how it goes.
