Talking Logan Martin 2/28 w/Mr. Crappie -idis!

Had one of the best days ever on the water with USAFRET99 today!! It is true that he is the long lining master of Logan Martin, fish slayer extrordinaire and I was not worthy to be in the back seat, but I went with him anyway. I can understand why he suffers from such a case of crappie -idis, he's killing em. We started fishing at 0600 this morning, water temp was 50 and we were in 17 FOW. I had six rods with me to troll and only had two set up when we started. It was not until 0730 that I had enough time to get all the rods rigged and in the water the action was so fast. We used 1/16 jigs and I used a double rig too with a 1/32 added above the other jig (pic of a double hook up today inserted). I'm not blowing out USAFRET99's sectrets he told me to make the post for our trip today. Best color for me was a Southern Pro 2" hot grub in junebug/chartreuse and blue/chartreuse. Another hot color today was a BPS triple ripple in John Deere Greene. We trolled at 1.0 mph. It was fast and furious just about the whole time we were out today. We had our two limits by 1023!!!! I just want to say thank you USAFRET99 for an awesome day on the water and some great company and fishing know how. I hope we can get out on the water again some day. I'm going to try to add some photos to this post. USAFRET99 had all the pictures and one of the live well full after we pulled out that I did not have, maybe he can add it later. Took me three hours to clean them all and then clean up the mess. Awesome day, again, thank you USAFRET99!!!

Bob, if you had been with me tonight I think we would have gotten a double limit. I think the fish are moving in here now too. It wont be long and we will be smoking them I think. I lost a lot of fish and could not keep them baited for a while. If I had help it would have been on. Looks like yall had a lot of fun, I know I sure did tonight. When they are on trolling it is fast and furious like you said. Holler at me tomorrow evening so we can finalize things.

Size: 94.9 KBGlad you enjoyed it. Had a great time. You can't do much better than 60 crappie before 10:30 in the morning and thats not counting all the keepers we threw back that were under 10". Having a great year and the action is only going to get better with every passing day now! Oh and don't forget the 3lb 10oz spotted bass, always fun on a crappie pole. Thats for the fish counter as well that was very nice of you!

stymie the only problem is, Bob already knows those secrets, he just acts like he dont know lol. Usafret99 you gotta be careful and not be like Bob with that counter, he likes to sit on it and make it count more fish lol. We have had days like the day you had in the past and it was hard to keep up with the fish counter the action was so fast. Gotta love those times

That looks delicious. I am jealous of yall's success I must admit. I would love to take a trip with you sometime USA and learn about long lining, I am completely ignorant in that regard. Bob, how did you cook those fish for the fish tacos? i've never made em on my own.

Just blackened a few pieces and then added all the regular taco fixings.
