I fished Bradford on Redstone today. The fish were scattered and chasing shad at daylight. Started the morning spider rigging with 6 poles, best bait was a 1/16oz jig head with a Mr Crappie Pink and Chartreuse tail. The fish were only a couple feet down in 6 feet of water. The fish shut down around 8:30 or 9:00 after the sun got up, but I still managed to catch a few males on scattered laydowns in two to three feet of water.
The water started this morning around 55 degrees and had warmed to 61 degrees by the time I left around 1:30. Lots and lots of short fish I threw back, most 8 to 9 inches. Should be really good later summer, early fall when their all 10 inches or better.
