My Uncle was with me...always keep it legal. Guess I should have said we...He is usually always with me when I am fishing and I am too lazy to clean over a single limit by myself anways! Lol.

I'm new to the forum and love it. I agree with you Melisten. No way he would intentionally break the law. Now for his uncle.... just kidding Uncle Mike. ( Tell him I said so Jason). I'm from Louisiana and all we did was night fish with minnows during cold weather there. Between Mepreach and Melisten I've learned a lot more ways to fish for crappie than just tight lining with a minnow. (Thanks guys). I'll never forget how to minnow fish though. Look forward to tight lining every time I go back home during the Winter Holidays.

He hates riding very far as he gets cold...I snapped this while running to the spot as he was getting out of the wind! If you ever meet my Uncle you will never forget him...He is an absolute nut! After the ride he said he felt so good he would give five bucks for a head ache! He will always have a seat in my boat as long as the good Lord allows me to be able to take him. He has had multiple surgeries and walks with a cane but will fish in pouring rain with me, wind or snow without ever a gripe or complaint.

Jason I need to learn your secret. I fished Neely Henry on Wed. and caught 20 crappie but I only had 2 keepers. Saw water temps from 50-53. Caught all fish from 6-10 feet of water.

I think I know the spot he is fishing, or sounds alot like it. Cove has a spring feeding it that keeps the water warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Caught many o fish out of that cove year around. It could be a different spot though. Actually think there is an underwater spring at one point as the temps seem to be even different in a small certain area.

Fishing a spring fed area in water as cold as it got this year is almost like hunting over a baited field HAHA. The 2 springs I use to fish around on the big G have long since died out or quit running water. Heard there were a couple of good springs at Short creek but i never found them for sure .
