    Default Wheeler Water

With the water up, moving, and stained as it is right now, do you guys seem to have much success in theses conditions? Or do you try to find some clearer water that's not in such a strong current?

    thanks for any input!

Can anyone explain to me why the water level is so high on Wheeler?

Well might be because they are sending 74000 cubic ft of water a second into Wheeler at Guntersville dam and they must not be letting that much out at Wheeler. They have 10 gates open at Guntersville. Guntersville lake is almost over full pool too.

Even if we don't get huge amounts of rain directly we are still affected by what happens upstream. I don't keep up with it like I used to but if Knoxville or Chattanooga get a good bit of rain it can keep our section high and fast for weeks. Check out the TVA sites and go upstream and see what everyone is spilling, I imagine it's not just Guntersville that's throwing some water through.
