I have fished from big creek ( beside of elk river mills ) around the bridge and all the way to the back of sugar creek for the past 3 weeks with little to show for it ( 4 ) . There are plenty of shad on the drop off from the bridge up river to the island but no crappie. Caught a lot last year in these same places. Have not even caught the stripe or catfish this year ?Quote:

Its been no better for me on Wilson. Fished Shoal Creek two days last week and got one crappie. Cats and drum bit but no crappie. Old timers ( no offense to anyone on the forum) :)) told me they where struggling as well.
Toad, gave up on noalff, jumped over here. What did you wind up doing to the suzuki? I cant seem to get too excited about crappie fishing this year, been three trips to where we were killing them last year with little luck. 1st trip= 13 keepers, 2nd trip=0, 3rd trip= 3 keepers. Don't know what has happened???
hey fishn!!!!!!! i talked to jody a lil while ago and he said hopefully he would have something back up after the first of the year. as for the zuke.... i took it to tennessee river marine over in muscle shoals. wasnt about to take it back to travis boating center in florence....completely done with them.
jeff papison runs tn river marine and he's who i originally bought the motor from, he's just not a suzuki dealer anymore. anywho.... he took it to the river several several time and finally got it to fail when he dropped the tiller handle on the way back to the ramp. best we can figure is that the ingintion switch or another harness in the tiller handle was shorting or failing. threw a new tiller handle on it and it's been rollin ever since!
i asked him to throw a new water pump in while he had the boat as well so i'm fixed up for a while.
listen all, jeff is premo good at marine work. very reasonable and knows alot of the ins and outs of lots of motors!
i went to elk and 2nd yesterday and stuck out again. time for new spots!!!!!!!!!
