5-7-11

Well here it is almost two weeks after the tornado and still NO electric (told it MIGHT be 2-3 more days). So let’s go fishing, the day started at 7:00 at Decatur AL. at the Y with a mild wind from the south. Fishing was a little slow (fish must still be in shock from the tornado) the water temp was 68 – 70 degrees – high and muddy! Miss Cathey naturally caught the first Crappie – 11” nice fish. We caught 8 more ranging from 2” minnow of a Crappie to the 11 incher. Then out of the blue WAM one hit my line with a vengeance and I thought man it must be a cat but when I got it to the boat it was a really nice Crappie 14 ¼ - 1lbs 14 oz. really nice and fat slab. Well I thought here it goes they are turning on but it was short lived that was the last fish of the day. We where using Minnows by themselves and a Bobby Garland jig (chartreuse) tipped with a minnow – method used was long line trolling.
