    Default Wheeler dam

Anyone have any updates on below the dam? Are all the gates open still? If so, for how much longer? When will the water be fishable again?
Sorry and not trying to be discourteous just wondering.

jlittle... they're only pullin about 40-50k. usually when they're letting over 80k thru is when the gates are open. i was there last week and the gates werent open. with 40k the tailrace should be getting right. the water temp has been 68-70 lately so it should be go time!

Yeah the catfish seem to be on pretty good there right now. We saw the people fishing from the bank catching plenty of them.

Me and my dad were there trying to bass fish on the bluffs just down from Hog Island earlier this week, but we caught more catfish than anything else even though we were using artificials. I haven't actually fished for catfish since I was a kid, so I've never really caught any big ones before, but I caught a 12.6 lb blue on a Reaction Innovations Smallie Beaver. It fought harder than any bass I've caught this year! Kinda makes me want to grab one of my saltwater outfits and see if I can learn to catch some of the really big ones.
