Can't say enough.
Up until last June, I was a full-time guide in North Alabama for many years. I taught primarily bass tactics but I did my share of crappie fishing on G'ville, Wheeler, Wilson, Logan Martin, Neely Henry and Lay. With the recent storms, my family there and many of my long-time friends are affected. I watched much of what I consider to be my homeland ripped to shreds on live TV from here in Arkansas. A really helpless feeling to say the least, especially those images of monster twisters going right over lands where I have dear friends and family.
But as I travel, and living out here on the Ark/Ok border, I hear many people who are thinking of and, praying for Alabama. It is so awesome to see how much of the country is wanting to help. And I can't say enough how much I love N Alabama and y'all who live there.
I was planning on getting back to fish Guntersville for our annual childswish (critically ill children) event in mid-May, but we may move it depending on how the recovery is. Either way, I'll get back for some summer crappie fishing!
No matter where you go in the world, there is no place like home. Especially when it's North Alabama.
